Two little northern Cheyenne sisters, ‘old souls’, caught in a moment outside their lodge.
Dressed with care for an important honoring ceremony, they wear wool trade cloth dresses decorated with cowrie shells, breastplates made of bead and bone, and many strands of expensive trade beads. their leggings and moccasins are fully beaded in classic northern Cheyenne patterns by their loving aunties. their countenance reveals the stress of enduring the indian wars and ensuing life on the reservation.
